Introduction to pipe bending

The pipe bending is carried out by using a complete set of molds. The pipe bending manufacturing process can be divided into two production and manufacturing processes: cold bending and hot bending.

The materials of bent pipes are classified into carbon steel bent pipes, alloy steel bent pipes, stainless steel bent pipes, low temperature steel bent pipes, high performance steel bent pipes, cast steel, copper, aluminum alloy, etc. The bent pipes are classified into push bent pipes, pressed bent pipes, cast bent pipes, forged bent pipes, etc. according to the production and molding process.

The hot bending process can avoid the uneven wall thickness of the pipe caused by the tensile thinning of the convex side of the pipe wall and the compressive thickening of the concave side of the pipe wall during the traditional pipe bending process. This process can produce a small radius (R≈D), thin wall (t/D≈0.015) 180° elbow with uniform wall thickness, which is impossible to achieve with other pipe bending processes.
